EduEvidence emerged from an international research endeavor aimed at aligning diverse ways of documenting evidence and impact in education. It established a system of alignment among various evaluation frameworks, evidence badges, certificates, and research studies based on the weight of evidence.
Our focus is on five types of impact evaluated by researchers and independent validators in order to calculate the total impact score of an EdTech’s product/company. Our evaluation framework serves as a benchmark for quality aspirations, not as a legal or regulatory standard.
Our Methodology is publicly available and explained on our research site. The EduEvidence team is happy to assist national governments interested in adopting our certification scheme.

Based on extensive international research conducted by global research consortia, EduEvidence has developed the 5Es framework, a comprehensive model for evaluating EdTech innovation and impact across efficacy, effectiveness, ethics, equity, and environment.
The 5Es are assessed at three levels of evidence, Bronze, Silver, and Gold, and apply across the full education continuum from pre-K and K–12 to higher education, including AI-powered technologies. Through the breadth and rigor of its evaluation, EduEvidence has become a global standard for quality in education technology, serving as an umbrella certification that aligns trusted providers such as ISTE, EdTech Tulna, and CAST, and supporting policymakers, school systems, and procurement teams worldwide in identifying trusted solutions.
Trust is pivotal in the education ecosystem. To increase this trust and facilitate a better understanding of the impact behind educational products entering teaching and learning environments, there are several evaluation frameworks, certification systems and research studies.
To help make sense of the possibilities and provide increased understanding for teachers, parents and policy-makers, it is important to understand the scope of the respective proof points and how they align with diverse definitions of “what works”.
The Eduevidence framework and certifications were launched at the BETT conference in 2024.
